Learn-to-Row Classes

Learn-to-Row classes are held two times each summer for anyone in the community interested in learning to row.  You will learn the skills and techniques needed to get up and rowing in a short period of time. 
 
The first week of classes will be off the water, learning safety, boat handling and basic stroke techniques. Subsequent classes will be conducted on the water with experienced coaches from the Quad City Rowing Association
  • Participants must be 14 years of age or older.

  • All participants must sign a waiver of liability; parents must sign for minors.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to swim, lift 30 pounds overhead and have good hip and knee flexibility. Please email qcra.rowing@gmail.com with any specific questions regarding physical requirements.

  • A percentage of class fees will go towards membership dues if participants wish to join the QCRA.

  • Minimum number of participants to hold a class is 5. Maximum number of participants for each class is 14.

Classes are held at the QCRA Boathouse, 17th Street at the Mississippi River, Moline, Illinois. (Next to Stoney Creek Inn).  
 

Fees are $175 per person.

Class Schedule

Session 1  Time:  6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

First class:  May 28th (both classes meet this night)

Monday & Wednesday class:  June 1st - June 24th

Tuesday & Thursday class:  June 2nd - June 25th
 

Session 2  Time:  6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

First class:  August 6th (both classes meet this night)

Monday & Wednesday class:  August 10th - September 2nd

Tuesday & Thursday class:  August 11th - September 3rd.
